We are sorry we can not be at your meeting in person to answer questions . However, the current owner just accepted our offer last Friday, and we had longstanding plans to leave for vacation on Sunday, October 3 . We hope this letter and Mike Hotlen's appearance on our behalf will give you a better understanding of the use of this property. We would like to rezone two acres from agricultural to LC-1 so that we can park equipment used in our small family-owned well drilling business . We agree to the condition that the property revert back to agricultural one year after sale if not occupied by another well driller. We also anticipate erecting a pole shed in the future for additional storage. Our equipment currently includes two well drilling rigs, a pump truck, a backhoe and trailer, a water truck and service trucks . The weights range from about 7, 000 for the service trucks to one rig weighing about 50, 000 pounds . However, the heaviest rig generally will be on construction sites. We believe that this rezoning will allow our agricultural-related business to better serve the water well needs of rural Deerfield residents . We have spent more than a year looking for property so that we can continue to stay in the area. Unfortunately, there is not much commercial property available in the area, and we have invested considerable time developing a regular client base here. Since we live locally in the Cottage Grove area, I think you will find us to be good neighbors . We appreciate your serious consideration of our request.
