Hoffmann Planning <br /> Ms. Anne Marie Hoffmann (608)266-4251,Rm.116 <br /> 2945 Scotland Parkway <br /> Sun Prairie WI 53590 Records&Support <br /> (608)266-4251,Rm. 116 <br /> RE: Accessory building at 2945 Scotland Parkway Zoning <br /> Parcel #012/0911-304-0034-2 (608)266-4266,Rm. 116 <br /> Dear Mr. and Ms. Hoffmann: <br /> The zoning district classification of your property is A-1, Agriculture, effective September 22, 1995. <br /> On November 30, 2015 the Dane County Zoning Division observed the construction of an accessory <br /> building on your property at 2945 Scotland Parkway. <br /> On December 1, 2015 a search of the Dane County zoning permit records found no permit for your <br /> accessory building. <br /> The Dane County Code of Ordinances (DCCO) is available at the following: <br /> https://danedocs.countyofdane.com/webdocs/pdf/ordinances/ord010.pdf. <br /> The following Sections are from the DCCO: <br /> • Section 10.01 of the DCCO states, "(1) Accessory building. A subordinate or supplemental <br /> building, the use of which is incidental to that of the main building on the same lot or the use of <br /> the premises on which it is located. <br /> • (2) Accessory use. A use customarily incidental and accessory to the principal use of a lot or <br /> parcel,or building or structure on the same lot or parcel as the principal use. <br /> • (7) Building. Any structure having a roof supported by posts, columns or walls and its appendages <br /> including,but not limited to balconies,porches, decks, stoops, fireplaces and chimneys." <br /> • Section 10.04(1) (b) of the DCCO states, "9. Permits required. No accessory building may be <br /> erected or placed without first obtaining a zoning permit as specified in section 10.25(2), except as <br /> provided below." <br /> • Section 10.25 of the DCCO states, "(2) Zoning permits. (a)No new building shall hereafter be <br /> erected, and no existing building shall be added to, structurally altered, moved or changed in use, <br /> nor shall any nonconforming building be repaired or restored, in any district, until a zoning permit <br /> has been issued, except as otherwise provided by law or ordinance." <br />
