COMPOSITE REPORT — Page 2 APPLICATION NO.B
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
Petition 5865 - CUP 1120. This site is within the mineral extraction area authorized by CUP 1041 in
the Town of Vienna. The proposed hot-mix plant site is within the operations area shown on the
reclamation plan approved for the mineral extraction permit.
During the review in January 1993, there was concern raised over possible adverse effects to the
groundwater from the mineral extraction operation. Staff review indicated that fuel spills were the
only concern, and suggested that refueling take place on an impervious surface at the operations
platform.
If the hot-mix plant is approved, there needs to be additional safeguards from any petroleum spills and
adequate berms to contain any leakage from storage tanks.
There should also be specific hours of operation and specification that CTH-I is the primary route for
truck traffic.
•
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
Petition 5865, C.U.P. 1120. No objections . This ties to the
C.U.P. for mineral extraction. The intersection of CTH "I" and
Easy Street was recently reconstructed to accommodate the
increased truck traffic using the C.U.P.- site. -
OTHER -
