COMPOSIT REPORT <br /> APPLICATION <br /> TOWN BOARD COMMENT: <br /> STAFF COMMENTS <br /> REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION (RPC) - - <br /> Petition 5488. This site is adjacent to the Agribusiness District in the Town of <br /> Cottage Grove. Adopted policies provide for expansion of the area if the following <br /> criteria are met: <br /> - A demonstrated need for the product or service at that location. <br /> - Avoid conflict with farming or use of productive agricultural land. <br /> - Must have access to public road of adequate quality to handle traffic and <br /> not conflict with residential or other uses. <br /> - Strip development will not be allowed. <br /> Comments: <br /> - The need is for storage of large amounts of construction materials and <br /> materials along CTH N. <br /> - The land has been out of production and should not Interfere with farming <br /> to the west . <br /> - CTH N is a major north-south roadway. <br /> - The strip development already exists. This change could allow for putting <br /> a huge outdoor storage area indoors. <br /> If this petition Is granted it should have two conditions on the rezoning: <br /> 1 . The use should be specifically limited to that requested since many C-2 <br /> uses would be incompatible at this location. <br /> 2. There should be a specific requirement that the existing equipment and <br /> supplies which are now scattered over the site be put In the new building. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPT.
