P . # 1034 <br /> Dear Bill : <br /> I am writing to you to let you know why the Town Board <br /> disapproved the request for the Conditional Use Permit for <br /> the Edmond Reiner farm to be a quarry. <br /> When I had first talked to you about this C . U. P. you stated <br /> that the proposed buyer could not receive his earnest money <br /> back until there was an actual denial . Therefore , I did not <br /> feel I needed to explain further than the disapproval . Some <br /> of the residents that were in attendance called and said <br /> that Mr . Reiner and Mr. Hanson spoke in favor of the quarry, <br /> and that they were concerned because the Town had only <br /> disapproved , without explanation . <br /> The Town Planning Commission held a public hearing on the <br /> issue and received petitions with 85 signatures opposing the <br /> proposed use . <br /> The use is not, consistent with out Town Land Use Plan. Yes , <br /> there are quarrys across the street , but there are also <br /> houses close to this site . The people in the area feel they <br /> have enough quarrys in the area. <br /> If you need any further information , please give me a call <br /> at. the Town.
