A meeting was held and as a result
a verbal understanding was reached as to the terms and conditions
for the continued expansion and operation of the quarry and the
development of the adjacent property. The verbal understanding has
been reduced to a written agreement, and it is hoped that the
agreement will be signed by both parties within the next week.
In addition to addressing the specific concerns regarding
the expanded quarry, the parties have also attempted to address the
problems associated with the old quarry site. In particular, the
parties are attempting to agree upon a plan that would permit the
quarry operator to reclaim the old quarry, thereby resulting in
three-to-one grades around the quarry rather than the steep sides
which currently exist.
Such a plan, however, will require the cooperation of
other adjacent property owners. It is hoped that the cooperation
will be forthcoming, for the plan will benefit not only the
property of Mr. Caldwell but also all of the surrounding properties
and therefore should be of benefit to the entire village.
j:0;;;91.3
