Permit denied because distance between signs is
less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance.
Enger explained that a permit had been issed by the zoning department
for another sign closer than the 1320 feet required by the zoning ord
inance. The sign for which a variance is requested has been in exis-
tence for more than 25 years and as the ordinance is interpreted, it
would have the right to stay over a newer sign. The alternative is
to cancel the permit for the other sign and order it removed.
IN FAVOR: Mrs. Montague requests a variance so they may be able to
keep their sign. The owner of the other sign had told her that he
expects that he will have to remove his sign within a year because a
home is to be built where it is located.
OPPOSED: None
TOWN BOARD: Did not appear.
