DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT November 19, 1971 Page 2 #148. Appeal by Mr. Hobson, Mr. F. Hanneman and Mr. S. Stevenson from the provisions of Section 10.42 (2) and (3) of the Dane County Zoning Ordinance for signs located in the SE4 SA of Section 5, NA /84 of Section 8, NE4 NE4 of Section 8, NO4 NA of Section 9, N A N11-4 of (1, Section 14, all in the Township of Blue Mounds, and the NA NA of Section 34, Township of Vermont. IN FAVOR: Mr. F. Hanneman and Mr. John Winner, representing Cave of the funds, Little Norway and Tyrol Basin. A map of the proposed changes was presented. Mr. Enger, Zoning Supervisor, stated that adoption of the present sign ordinance made it difficult for these three resources to direct tourists to their respective locations. OPPOSED: None. TOWN BOARD: Arthur Bergum, Chairman, in favor. #149. Appeal by John R. Straus from denial of a permit to build an addition to a residence on a parcel of land located in part of Government Lot 2, Section 6, Township of Westport. Permit denied because setback from lot line and side yard are less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. Request by Mr. Straus to withdraw his appeal was received by the Zoning Department. OTHERS: None ,, #141. Application by Leroy Kelly and Dean Wiseman for a Special Exception Permit to construct a pond on a parcel of land located in the SE4 NA of Section 20, Township of Deerfield. Applicants did not appear. OTHERS: None. #147. Appeal by Andrew Rude from denial of a permit to build an addition 1 to a residence on a parcel of land located in the SW4 SA of Section 21, Township of Dunkirk. Permit denied because setback from County j Highway is less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. 1 Applicant did not appear. OTHERS: None. #143. Application by the Village of Mount Horeb for a Special Exception • Permit to straighten or change the course of the West Branch of the Sugar River to provide room for a new sewage treatment plant, locate in the SE4 SE4 of Section 14 and the NE4 NE4 of Section 23, Township of Blue Mounds. Applicant did not appear. OPPOSED: Benford Jelle, adjoining farm owner; farm buildings are on'y 4 mile away from proposed location. TOWN BOARD: Arthur Bergum, Chairman, Board is opposed; a petition by town residents also in opposition was presented. The Public Hearing was closed. #140. Motion by Holte to grant, second by Dahlk, carried #141. Motion to deny, as applicant did not appear, by Dahlk, second by Holte, carried. #142. Motion by Dahlk to grant variance of 7' 3" from lot line, second by Holte, carried. #143. Motion to deny by Holte, second by Dahlk. REASONS: Applicant did not appear; Town Board opposed; Petition of Town residents in opposition presented.
