MINUTES OF THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> MEETING OF JUNE 15, 1973 <br /> Present: Erickson, Holte, Dahlk. Also: Enger, Fleck <br /> Meeting was called to order by Chairman Erickson at 7:30 P.M. in .Room 226 <br /> to conduct a public hearing as published in the notice. A motion to approv: <br /> the minutes of May 18 and June 9, 1973 was made by Holte, second by Dahlk, <br /> carried. <br /> The notice was read and the public hearing was opened, <br /> #221. Appeal by T. K. McCulloch from denial of a permit to build an <br /> addition to a building located on a parcel of land in the NE4 s1,)4 of <br /> Section 21, Township of Sun Prairie. Permit denied because the setback <br /> from County Highway"T" is less than required by the Dane County Zoning <br /> Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: T. K. McCulloch; addition will be built on the existing found- <br /> ation, egress and ingress will be from Lonely Road. Purpose is to replace <br /> portion of building destroyed, some time back, by a tornado. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: not present. <br /> #222. Appeal by James H. Bossingham from denial of a permit to build an <br /> addition to a residence located on Lot 2, Block 1, Brickson Park, Township <br /> of Dunn. Permit denied because side yard is less than required by the Dane <br /> County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN x'AVOR: J. Bossingham; purpose is to provide additional living space in <br /> order to make a permanent residence. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: District Supervisor, Lyman Anderson. OPPOSED: none <br /> TOWN BOARD: not present. <br /> #223. Appeal by Don Johnson from denial of a permit• to remodel a noncon- <br /> forming building located on a parcel of land in the SE1; SEA of Section 26, <br /> Township of Dunn. Permit was denied because the setback from J.S. Highway <br /> 51 is less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: Mssrs. Johnson and Briggs; variance reouested because building i, <br /> nonconforming and requires a permit for proposed remodeling. Erickson <br /> raised the question of the problem of cars backing out onto the highway, <br /> the building is only 131/2' from the R.O.W. Discussion followed. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: NOT PRESENT. <br /> The public hearing was closed. <br /> #221. Motion by Holte to grant 9t variance from setback requirements as pe <br /> finding of fact: 1. Proven case of hardship. 2. Granting of variance is <br /> not harmful to public interest, rights of others or property values. <br /> Second by Dahlk, carried. <br /> . #222. Motion by Holte to grant 2' variance from sideyard requirements as <br /> per finding of fact: 1. Proven case of hardship. 2. ,variance necessary to <br /> secure rights of applicant. 3. Not harmful to public interest, rights of <br /> others or property values. Second by Dahlk, carried. <br /> #223. Motion by Dahlk to grant 53' 6" variance from setback and 1' varianc- <br /> from side yard requirements provided that vehicular traffic is allowed on <br /> both sides of the building and some type of barricade is installed to <br /> prevent vehicular traffic in front of the building. Finding of fact: var- <br /> iance is necessary to secure a permit for the remodeling of the building. <br /> 2.
