The proposed quarry expansion is in a Rural Non-Residential District in the Town of <br /> Windsor where such uses are allowed. It is immediately south of the existing rock quarry. <br /> The proposed expansion goes into a rocky hill, away from the more productive farmland to the <br /> southeast, and away from the three homes on the east side of Mile Road in the Town of Bristol. <br /> Because of the bedrock, this site is vulnerable to groundwater contamination; there should not be any <br /> non-quarrying or potentially polluting activities allowed at the site. <br /> There needs to be time limits and a restoration plan as well. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPT.
