BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - Minutes
November 20, 1980
Page 4
(kW 3. Scale controls cannot be located in the existing truck-stop buildilg
because of their size and lack of available space. Also, the
smaller axle scale has a mechanical arm connection to the controls
which would be very difficult, if not impossible, to install; (See
#4 following) .
4. Existing gas pumps, tanks, signs, etc. have a maze of connecting
pipes and electrical conduits. The scale must be located out of
these areas or a major realignment of components would be required.
5. This area of U.S.H. 51 and the I-System was recently improved.
The right-of-way is 200' wide and should provide adequate room
for future improvements without the taking of any of the property
in question.
6. The scale house will not be a hazard to traffic; it is set back
approximately 50 feet from the nearest pavement and the road is
level and straight.
CONCLUSION:
a. Proven case of unnecessary hardship.
b. Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the public
interest.
Motion carried.
#935.
