Fleck <br /> Dane County Zoning Administrator <br /> 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. <br /> Room 116 <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Re: Craig and Janice Faga--Amendment to Zoning Petition No. <br /> 5622 <br /> Ladies and Gentlemen, <br /> On behalf of our clients, Craig and Janice Faga, we request <br /> that Zoning Petition No. 5622, which currently seeks the rezoning <br /> of the Fagas' 15.75 acre parcel (the "Faga Parcel") to permit ten <br /> (10) one-acre residential lots and one (1) three and one half (3 <br /> 1/2) acre parcel, be changed to a petition seeking the rezoning <br /> of the Faga Parcel to permit only three (3) one-acre residential <br /> lots and one (1) ten and one half (10 1/2) acre parcel. Thus, by <br /> reference to the Site Plan attached hereto, the amended Zoning <br /> Petition No. 5622 would seek to rezone only lots 9, 10 and 11 <br /> from RH-3 Rural Homes to R-1 Residential (the "Amended <br /> Petition") . A Certified Survey Map would be used to establish <br /> the boundaries of the three lots referred to above and the <br /> remaining parcel. <br /> The downsizing of the Amended Petition to three (3) one-acre <br /> residential lots from ten (10) one-acre residential lots <br /> represents a significant compromise by the Fagas. This <br /> compromise is being made to address the one legitimate concern <br /> raised at the May 17, 1993 Town of Westport Plan Commission <br /> meeting regarding the impact of additional homes in the area on <br /> traffic flow and on the single access road to and from Highway M. <br /> Three (3) homes will have substantially less effect on traffic <br /> flow than would ten (10) homes. Moreover, at the May 18, 1993 <br /> Town of Westport Board meeting -- which was subsequent to the <br /> Plan Commission's deliberations -- it was disclosed that the Town <br /> is in the process of upgrading the roads in the Fox Bluff area <br /> (where the Faga Parcel is located) and that an additional or <br /> alternative access road (Harrier Lane) is planned from Highway M <br /> to the Fox Bluff area. <br />
