fir
.
.
Ms. Goode derives substantial benefits from the Faga property,
which is contiguously located to the Goodes' property, in its
current non-developed condition. Ms. Goode utilizes the open space
of the Faga property for walking and riding her horses and also
uses the water from the Faga property. This use and benefit of the
Faga property by and to the Goodes would not exist if such property
was rezoned and subdivided for residential development. Moreover,
the residential development of the Faga property would raise the
property tax assessment of the Goode's property.
Indeed, Ms. Goode conceded the conflict by stating that she
would abstain from voting on the petition. Unfortunately, Ms.
Goode refused to refrain from continued active participation in the
discussion of that petition as a Plan Commission member.
At the Plan Commission meeting last Monday evening, Ms. Goode
used her position on the Plan Commission to argue for preservation
of the substantial benefits she receives from the Faga property and
to protect her personal financial interest. Ms. Goode repeatedly
and stridently voiced her opposition to the Faga rezoning petition.
I call your particular attention to the enforcement provisions
contained in Sections 19.59 (7) and (8) of the Wisconsin Statutes,
which provide for forfeitures up to $1,000 for each violation and
enforcement actions by the district attorney and the attorney
general.
Ms. Goode's conduct has unalterably tainted the Faga rezoning
petition process and adversely affected the rights of the Fagas.
We request prompt and effective remedial action by the Town to
redress the harm caused by Ms. Goode's perceived ethical
violations.
y truly yours,
- , iLy ___„ _ _
J hn H.
