' DANE COUNTY TREASURER
, o _ , ,
Room 114, City-County Building, Madison, Wisconsin 53709
, 1:39 5e Telephone (608) 266-4151
,1 b So
JAMES H.AMUNDSON LOTS MUELLER
TREASURER DEPUTY TREASURER
May 24. 1993
TO: Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
FROM: Jim Amundson, Dane County Treasurer
In 1989 we took tax title to a 1 acre lot in the Town of Windsor, Section 4,
facing on Highway 51 . When we take tax title we make the Town whole for all
past due taxes and then are supposed to recover those taxes by sale of the
property. We have been working diligently ever since to sell this lot.
We offered the property to the next door neighbor, William Paynter, but he
declined. Recently, David Grinde made an offer contingent on Town approval
of a zoning change. He wants to build a small welding shop and will put in
a mound system. This is the only parcel remaining on this part of Highway
51 that has access to this now limited access highway. The property shares
a 66 foot access easement with William Paynter. The site is not appropriate
for a dwelling.
The County Treasurer recuests that you hold action on this item until we can
work out an arrangement with the Town of Windsor to accomodate the reauested
use. Sale proceeds are budgeted revenue and go directly to the General
Fund.
