MAY 24 '93 10: 15AM FAX% 609-84=!-8149
Rr '
--_
atiP/Oh
l
WOLLERSHEIM WINERY z . ! ;,:5 :
Hwy 188, Pra irte du Sac, V111 53578
21 May 1993
Chairman
Dane County Zoning Dept
Rm 116 City County Building
Madison, Wi 53709
Subject:: CUP Petition #1065, Payne & Dolan Asphalt Plant
Dear Members of the Committee:
I appeared at the hearing on May 11, 1993 regarding the subject CUP. At that
time I expressed some concerns as to how that plant at the proposed location •
could adversely affect my business. At the suggestion of the chairman I met
subsequently with Bill Buglass and other members of the Payne and Dolan
company and reviewed their plant on Verona Road. These are my findings.
I found the personnel of Payne and Dolan to be cooperative and interested in my
concerns. While the plant at Verona Road was not operating at the moment I was
there, I found the plant and the surrounding area to be clean and well-cared for.
Conversations with employees there showed a good degree of competence and
responsibility. many of my concerns were answered by the well-maintained
equipment and grounds.
In summary, I would like to state that with two conditions, I have no opposition to
the operation of the asphalt plant on the site proposed. Those conditions are that
1) the entry/exit road used be well treated against dust on a daily basis, and 2)
The permit be issued for a limited term in case of unforseen problems with
residue or odors affecting the wine or visitor quality of our place
Thank you for your consideration on this. matter.
obert P.
