Zoning Petition #5652
C.U.P. #1070
Concerns from resident on adjacent property, 1396 Sayles Trail, William G. Luth.
1 . While zoned an agricultural area in the country, this is a residential area. 3 to
4 residential sites adjacent to proposed site and 6± more in close proximity.
2. Safety: Long term effects on residents in close proximity to transmission
towers - i.e. similar to effects now being realized from high voltage power lines.
Effects from "spill over" from method of transmission, i.e. if microwave- similar
to cautions distributed with microwave ovens.
3. Impact on quality of life and potential financial loss:
• My property is adjacent to proposed site
• My back yard backs up to proposed site
• Focus of house and yard is to back yard:
-Solarium
-Deck
-Landscaping - trees & rock outcroppings
• I would not have purchased property if there had been a large visible
tower behind it.
• Impact on Television and Radio reception
• Why isn't this commercial project being located in a commercial or
industrial setting - high ground means a shorter, less expensive tower is
needed - i.e. commercial venture saves money at expense of neighbors.
SUMMARY: Why consider changing the zoning status of such an area of the
countryside to allow a commercial project which not only doesn't bring
value to the area but poses safety and financial risks to the area
residents. (A zoning change to allow residential expansion would be
understandable and hard to argue against.)
I further plead with this committee to oppose this request as it provides
financial benefit to two parties (seller and communication tower owner),
at the expense of the area residents. This is classic win/lose situation.
