(AMCI)
Madison SMSA Limited Partnership
Site: MAD-HH
1425 Sayles Trail
Montrose, Wisconsin
Dear Mr. Reynolds:
I represent Ameritech Mobile Communications, Inc., (AMCI), the operational arm for Ameritech Mobile
Communications of Wisconsin, Inc., the general partner in the Madison SMSA Limited Partnership. The
Madison SMSA Limited Partnership's main business is providing cellular mobile telephone service to the
public in the greater Madison metropolitan area and their operations and facilities are licensed by the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The current Madison cellular system encompasses more
than 2,000 square miles ranging from the Dells on the North to Beloit on the South. There are currently
12 cells in operation with an additional 10 cells in planning.
This letter and application concerns the construction of a "cell", the basic working unit of cellular
technology, consisting of a 180' monopole tower with an additional 17' antenna for a total height of 197'
together with an unmanned electronic telephone equipment shelter with approximate dimensions of 12'
x 26' x 10' high. At this point in time we are awaiting word from Mr. William Fleck regarding a
possible change in the zoning procedures, however, AMCI will seek any relief that is necessary to allow
the construction of AMCI's unmanned cellular telephone facility.
Due to its unique design, this installation will not interfere with the use and enjoyment of any other
property in the immediate vicinity, nor will it have an effect on the property values within the
neighborhood. Rather, its presence will enhance and in some cases provide state of the art
communications which will augment the current uses and enjoyment of the surrounding property.
