4--; OC,; 5 April 1993 Dane County Land Regulation and Records 210 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Room 116 Madison, WI 53709 Dear Commissioners: We would like to apply for a conditional use permit to board, breed and train horses on our property in the Town of Rutland. Legal Description: CSM #3752 Tax Parcel Number: 26-0510-134-8230-4 Our proposed use is to build a new barn and arena for boarding and training a few horses, other than our own. Mrs. Bradley is on the Dane County 4H Horse and Pony Committee and is a horse project leader. She teaches 4H showmanship and would like to hold mock horse shows to teach the children. Other than that, we would not hold horse shows. We would also like the option of breeding horses. Mr. Bradley, who is presently a masonry contractor, would like to be able to train a few horses when he retires. We presently own two registered Arabian mares, full sisters, that we personally show extensively in the Midwest. Our one mare was the high point halter champion in 1991 and the other mare was high point western pleasure champion in 1992. Our plan for development would be to build the barn this year and the arena within the next two years. Our property is located well off the main road with our own 750 foot blacktop drive. This makes an ideal location for the proposed use as we are a considerable distance from any residential property, bordered by DNR land to the east and agricultural land to the south. We have a beautiful oak woods which will border the buildings on the north, a row of mature pines on the south, adjacent to the agricultural land. Our buildings will be attractive with a 14 box stall barn and a 20 foot round natural stone silo in the front corner for bedding storage (shavings). The walls of the barn will be rock-faced decorative block and the roof and arena will be colored steel. Our driveway and turnaround are blacktop and we will have
