Blvd . <br /> Madison,WI 53709 <br /> To the Supervisors of Dane County , <br /> The Town Board of Springfield would like to respectfully <br /> request that the County Board appeal the approval of Conditional <br /> Use Permit #1078 . This CUP requested a temporary asphalt plant by <br /> Payne & Dolan in an existing mineral extraction site on USH 12 . <br /> At the local level the Town Board rejected this request due to <br /> the concern of residents . Of those registered at the meeting there <br /> were nineteen opposed to granting the CUP and one who supported it . <br /> Concerns expressed centered around environmental impact , traffic <br /> control and safety, permits had not been filed with the D.N .R. and <br /> owners of the quarry have not been sensitive to land owners needs . <br /> Those opposing felt the Norway Grove site operated by Payne & Dolan <br /> would serve the project just as well . A petition was submitted <br /> with' 51 opposed signatures .
