It <br /> is the position of the Southern District of the DNR that these wetlands should <br /> be protected from development. Unfortunately, we have no direct regulatory <br /> control over the matter. Therefore, we must rely on your agency to protect <br /> this area from additional disturbance. <br /> In view of EPA's new policy of "no net loss of wetlands, " this proposal should <br /> be denied. If not, the applicant should be required to create 1.5 acres of <br /> wetland for each acre of wetland lost.
