During the course of public meetings there was
some criticism that the data should not have been collected in July, but rather
during the school year. The point being there would be more traffic when school
was in session.
At the request of the ETZ Committee, another traffic counter was set to gather
data over a two-week period in April 2004 — one week when school was in
session and one week during Spring break.
As I expected, traffic was less during the April count - considerably less during
Spring break and approximately 700 less each day in each direction when school
was in session. The AM peak was notability earlier than the July count. Morning
traffic during school days sharply declined around 8:00 AM, which is one half
hour before off-site trucking is proposed to begin.
Considering this, my original impact analysis would be on the conservative side
and I see no reason to adjust the findings.
Yours truly,
`.■ . -■11111.
Dennis L. orton, PE
