PETITION <br /> TO: Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee; Town of <br /> Vienna; and Village of DeForest <br /> We oppose the rezoning of approximately 50 acres of land in <br /> the Town of Vienna near the intersection of County Trunk <br /> Highways I and V to allow for a truckstop because: <br /> 1. The truckstop would require road improvements to CTH I, <br /> CTH V, and the I-90/94 interchange to safely handle <br /> increased traffic. These improvements could cost as much <br /> as $2,500, 000, and we as local citizens could be required <br /> to bear up to 25% of this cost. <br /> 2. Increased traffic will increase accident risk, putting <br /> additional demands on police and emergency services . <br /> 3 . A truckstop on this site might cause environmental <br /> damage to groundwater, well water, and air quality, and <br /> will increase noise. <br /> 4 .
