JAN./BOA MINUTES
PAGE 1
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES
JANUARY 27, 2000
PRESENT: Long, Klopp, Ross,Kay and Sayles
ALSO: Reynolds
Meeting called to order by Chair Kay at 6:30 P.M. in Room 2-F City-County Building to
hold Public Hearing as published by Class II Notice.
MINUTES: Sayles/Ross to hold approval of minutes until February Hearing. Motion
arried—5-0.
JANUARY PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS:
#3077. Appeal by Paul Burrill for a variance from maximum permitted height of
boathouse as provided by Sections 11.03(3) and 10.07(3)to permit deck addition to
boathouse as constructed at 3236 Brooklyn Drive being Lot#1 and East 6 feet Lot#2,
Camp Columbia, and adjacent lands in the SW 1/4 SE 1/4- Section 25, Town of Dunn.
IN FAVOR: P. Burrill OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: Town Board
tof ROSS/KLOPP to grant variance of 7±feet from required maximum height of boathouse
to permit decking atop existing structure as constructed.
Finding of fact:
1). Applicant had replaced decking roof boards and added rubber roof atop existing
boathouse.
2). Decking raised 8" above old decking to remove rotted members.
3). Deck is 13' x 18' and sits atop boathouse constructed 50-60 years ago.
4). Ordinance would provide for normal maintenance, however, raising height of
decking above normal high watermark necessitates variance.
Conclusion:
1). Variance preserves the zoning ordinance as much as possible without injustice to
applicant.
2). Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the public interest.
Motion carried— 5-0.
#3078. Appeal by Don& Janet Boese for a variance from required setback from road as
provided by Section 10.17(1)to permit garage addition to existing structure as
constructed at 6904 US Highway 12 in the SW 1/4 SW 1/4 - Section 27, Town of
Roxbury.
IN FAVOR: D. Boese OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: ---
SAYLES/LONG to grant with condition variance of 1.85 feet from required setback to
centerline of US Highway 12 to permit garage addition as constructed.
Condition:
