Application For Conditional Use Permit <br /> Blackhawk Bowhunters <br /> Reasons Why Property is Suitable for Proposed Use: <br /> Blackhawk Bowhunters of Madison was founded in 1953 , next <br /> year will be our 40th year of operations. During this time <br /> period we have functioned as an outdoor (fair weather) <br /> archery club. During the winter months, from November until <br /> the end of March, we have found other indoor archery ranges <br /> to practice. <br /> By building our own indoor archery range, we move from being <br /> an outdoor (warm weather) archery club, to a full year <br /> archery club. We expect this move to expand our membership <br /> and our operational revenue. Because we are a non-profit <br /> organization, all funds from operations are targeted toward <br /> improving club facilities and promoting archery. <br /> As an archery club our primary goal is to promote the sport <br /> of archery in the metropolitan Madison area. To that end we <br /> currently hold three outdoor archery competitions per year <br /> and offer ongoing summer leagues to our members. In <br /> addition, we also host the archery portion of the Badger <br /> State Games each year. With the addition of our indoor <br /> range we intend to promote at least three indoor archery <br /> competitions during the winter months from December through <br /> March.
