North Bristol Sportsman's Club
A z P.O. Box 202 .0-
Prairie WI 53590
Sun f
(608) 837-6048 ,p
firqiiir. 0.=-,... ' September 18, 1992 I4!
Mr. Michael Rewey
District 1
Wisconsin D.O.T.
2401 Wright Street
Madison, WI 53704
Re: Request for Frontage Road
Dear Mr. Rewey,
Since U.S.H. 151 was improved last year and the U.S.H. 151-Muller Road
intersection was closed, all traffic to North Bristol Sportsman's Club
must travel along Greenway Road from C.T.H. "V" north of the club or
from C.T.H. "VV" or Twin Lane south of the club. There are
approximately one hundred people who shoot trap at the Club on Mondays
and Wednesdays, approximately 250 people at the Friday night fish fry
and wedding receptions, company picnics, etc. on about half of the
weekends. In addition at least five law enforcement agencies (Sun
Prairie Police, State Patrol, DNR, IRS, & A.T.F.) use our pistol range
for practice and qualification. This takes place about 8-10 days per
month.
Previously, when nearly all traffic exited U.S.H. 151 at Muller/Greenway
Road, the traffic passed by only one home which is across Greenway Road
from the club driveway.
Our neighbors along Greenway Road have expressed dismay and great
concern at the large increase in traffic volume and the associated
increase in trash and noise in front of their homes. A proposed
expansion of the club facilities prompted the neighbors to form a
committee to oppose the expansion for fear of more traffic increases.
We request that a frontage road be constructed along the south side of
U.S.H. 151 from Twin Lane to Greenway Road to provide a route from
U.S.H. 151 to North Bristol Sportsman's Club that does not go by all of
the homes on Greenway Road. There is only one home on Greenway Road
between U.S.H. 151 and the club driveway as mentioned earlier.
