NBSC MEMBERSHIP Effective January 1 , 1993 It is recommended that our membership status change to a two tier plus Life membership . It is recommended that we add an "INACTIVE" status for those who want to be members but who are unable to donate time to the support of the club. It is also recommended that we change our membership fee structure and add an initiation fee to join. It is also recommended that we put a cap on the number of Life Members to a percentage of the total membership . These recommendations are being made because we are increasingly paying for more and more services that could be performed by members . Those who work for the club should not have to pay as much as those who only belong . Status Today Proposed Today Proposed Limitation $ $ Hours/Yr Hours/Yr Life 150 500 0 0 333 Active 20 35 0 8 Inactive 20 75 0 0 Initiation Fee 0 25 All "NEW" Members will pay an Initiation Fee ($25 ) plus an annual membership fee ( $75 ) and must earn Active Status ( $35) for the following year by performing work ( 8 hours ) . Current members ( 1992 ) will pay no Initiation fee and will pay the active fee ( $35) . However, they must earn the right to retain active membership status by work hours ( 8 hours ) . If work hours are not met , then in year 2 (1994) their membership fee goes to the inactive status ( $75 ) and they have to earn active status for the next year. All dues are to be paid by March 31 of each calendar year . If a members dues are not paid by March 31 , then their membership ends and the Initiation fee is also due even if it was paid in a previous year . If there is a cap ( limitation) on membership and there is a waiting list to join, all members whose dues lapse will go to the end of the waiting list . Any "NEW" individual joining at or after the Fall shoot will have their membership fee apply for the remainder of that calendar year plus the next calendar year . Life memberships to be,. approved by the Board and be a maximum of the total membership 3773Z . There should be a minimum time as an active member prior to applying for life membership .
