 ^
0-
Robert W. Jenkins
4150 Paviak Rd.
Deerfreld , WI 5353t - -
September 3, 1992
Dane County Zoning & Natural
Resources Committee w.
Room 116
210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd RECEIVED
Madison , WI 53703 ZONING DIV.
RE: Zoning Petition # 5454.
I am requesting that this letter be considered during the public
hearing on petition # 5454. I am unable to attend due to work.
I have great concern for any further development in the area of
Pavlak Rd.
There are in the immediate area
Seven single family homes.
Two two family homes.
Zoning allready approved for two more single family homes.
Zoning approved A-2 for future development.
Recreational zoning for Deerfield Rod and Gun Club.
The area requested to be zoned RH-1 is on a steep hillside in
dense woods. It is planned that this area be developed into smaller
lots, each requiring 200 feet of frontage. To do this the houses will
have to be set back a distance from a proposed cul-de sac with long
steep driveways.
Being a Deerfield Volunteer Firefighter and Vice President of
the Deerfield Firefighters Association I can say that this arrangement
will greatly restrict access for all the firefighting equipment that
would be necessary in the event of a fire in the area.
The density of housing in this area allready constitutes a good
size subdivision and to allow any more development would be detrimental
to the area and the enviroment. The nitrate level in my well has
inreased 16% since the last three homes have been built. This may
seem like a small amount , but with small children , I am concerned
that the nitrate level will increase a lot more with more development.
In closing I urge the Zoning and Natural Resoures Committee and
the County Board to deny this zoning request and restrict any
further development in this area untill such time that a municipal
water and sanitary sewer system would be available.
Thank you for your time.
Tc4piLd
Robert W.
