CUP 916. This proposed mineral extraction site expansion is in an
unsewered development district In the Town of Bristol where low density
residential development is allowed. The adopted policy on mineral
extraction in the town is: "Mineral extraction operations may be
permitted provided that they meet all the policies and standards of the
town with regard to road usage and are compatible with surrounding use
of land."
The residential subdivisions to the east are virtually filled with
houses. There are additional houses north of Happy Valley Road, with a
golf course to the west and farmland to the south. While Bird Street is
In reasonably good condition, all trucks leaving in either direction
must pass a number of homes.
We note also that the mineral Is limestone and will probably require
periodic blasting for material .
If this expansion is considered for approval , it will need many
conditions such as:
- Reclamation plan, including reclamation of the existing non-
conforming site
- Hours of operation
- Blasting schedule
- Truck route
Termination period such as 5 to 10 years. _.
