Hoffman . <br /> I am against the proposed zoning change for the following <br /> reasons: <br /> 1 . The proposed sand/gravel operation will be within <br /> approximately 250 feet of a residential area . <br /> 2 . The operation has a proposed life of 12 years during <br /> which time the area will be exposed to the view of the <br /> residential area . <br /> 3 . The operation will require the use of heavy equipment <br /> close to the residential area causing potential traffic <br /> problems and noise pollution . <br /> 4 . Most important , the residential area has a large number <br /> of young children who would be attracted to the sand/gravel <br /> extraction area . The operation of such a site is extremely <br /> dangerous and a curious child could experience a fatal <br /> accident . <br /> I personally feel an operation of this type should not be allowed <br /> to exist in such close proximity to a populated area especially <br /> one with a large number of children . <br /> Please do not make the decision to approve the petition when <br /> there are so many negative impacts on the residents in the <br /> immediate vicinity of the proposed operation . <br /> Sincerely , <br /> '?./ e <br /> RICHARD E .
