May 28 , 1991
Land Regulation and Records
Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
Room 116 , City-County Building
Madison, Wisconsin 53709
Attention: Shary Bisgard, Chairperson
Re: Conditional Use Permit for an Art Gallery and
Liquor License
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
Should the conditional use permit be granted, we feel the least
that should be done would be to have some conditions that will
inhibit the development of a full blown shopping center situation
on the site.
I offer the following conditions and ask that they be made a part
of any approval given:
1 . A sign naming the business , "Voyager Gallery, " only, be
allowed in an approximate size of 1 foot by 2 feet , visible
from High Point Road and attached to the house. No mention
of alcoholic beverages .
2 . That there be no expansion of the gallery from its present
size .
3 . That a new parking lot , if built , would not exceed 5 stalls
of parking or 50 feet in length.
4 . That the owner would not petition for rezoning the property
to anything other than single family residental for 15
years .
5 . That none of the existing landscaping on the North, East and
West sides of the present site be removed.
6 . That there not be any alcoholic sales unless the customer
also buys artwork.
7 . In general , the existing property shall remain residential
in appearance and character to any person viewing it .
Respectfully,
Kenneth R. Welton
KRW:kb/256 . 1tr
