DANE COUNTY APPLICATION FOR COYDITIONAL USE PERMIT Item No. : 7.
C.U.P. # 922
i Nita Young and David Walters
For:Nita Young and David Walters
Location: 590 Viney Road Section 22, SW SW Town Montrose Area: 5.1 more
or less Acres
Proposed use: Expand existing boarding/riding stable to 25 horses.
ANALYSIS:
CONCERNS EXPRESSED AT/AFTER PUBLIC HEARING:
STAFF COMMENTS:
R.P.C. - CUP 922. This horse boarding operation on 5.1 acres was recently
approved for 10 horses. The applicant has since built a large stable
and now asks for a limit of 25 horses.
There are a number of single family homes In the area, with some vacant
lots zoned for residential use nearby, thus setting up a potential
future land use conflict with a concentration of animals In a
residential neighborhood.
To mitigate the concentration, the applicant proposes to lease 15 to 20
acres for pasture and riding space. if this permit Is granted, it
should-be contingent upon leasing additional land. In fairness to all
the-other R-H and A-2 horse owners who are limited to one animal unit
per acre, the applicant should be limited to one horse per acre owned
and leased.
E.H.D. -
Co. Hwy. -
•
