0 4r Land Conservation Division
v. ,,
Dane County Land &Water Resources Department
41.`stoss Patrick J.Sutter,County Conservationist
DATE: August 20, 2009
TO: Jim and Beth Hagstrom
FROM: Jeremy Balousek, P.E.
Urban Conservation Engineer
RE: Hagstrom Residence—Erosion Control and Stormwater Management Plan,
ES2009-0190
The submitted erosion control and stormwater management plan meets the needs of the site.
The plan includes the following requirements:
1. The site may only be accessed off Autumn Pond Trail using a stone tracking pad. The
pad must be a minimum of 50' long x 24' wide x 12" deep and be constructed of 3-inch
clear stone. No other site access may be used and material deposited in the road will be
cleaned up throughout and at the end of each workday.
2. Sediment logs must be installed in the swales at an interval of one per two feet of vertical
drop once the swales have been graded. Sediment must be removed from the upslope
side of the logs once it reaches V2 the logs' height.
3. Silt fence must be installed prior to grading in the locations shown on the plan and where
deemed necessary, including the down slope of all soil stockpiles. The silt fence must be
maintained until the site has been vegetated and stabilized.
4. All swales must be erosion matted during final site stabilization. The erosion matting
must be WisDOT Class I, Type B, as specified in the plan.
5. Two bioretention basins must be constructed once the tributary areas have been
constructed and stabilized. Care must be taken to prevent runoff from disturbed areas
from entering the facilities, once they have been constructed and stabilized. The
bioretention basins must be installed with 3-inches of hardwood mulch followed by 36-
inches of engineered soil over 45-inches of sand or washed stone.
6. Grading must be confined to the areas shown on the plan. No material storage, vehicle
traffic or grading may occur in the areas identified as"undisturbed"or"vegetated buffer"
on the plan. In the event any of these areas are disturbed, additional erosion control
measures will be required.
Lyman F.Anderson Agriculture&Conservation Center
1 Fen Oak Court,Room 208,Madison,Wisconsin 53718-8812-PH: 608/224-3730,FAX:608/224-3745
www.countyofdane.com/landconservation
