(e) Describe any material discrepancy between the location of the corner as restored or reestablished
and the location of that corner as previously restored or reestablished by distance and direction. Show
the discrepancy in the sketch on sheet 1.
An Aluminum Dane County Monument was found at the intersection of USH 51 and Pleasant Hill Road. The
corner is noted in the most recent tie sheet as being located in an incorrect location. CSM 3125, 4470, and
5248 all appear to use the location noted on the tie sheet dated September 25, 1984. In July of 1989, the
intersection was excavated and the original plug was found 9.21 feet from the monument shown previously.
The position monumented was found to be incorrect from previous surveys and records. The discrepancy is
noted on numerous recent surveys in the area showing the location of the true corner.
(f)Was the corner restored through acceptance of(1) an obliterated evidence location, or(2)a found
perpetuated location?
A found perpetuated location.
(g&h)Was the corner reestablished through proportionate methods? If so,show the method, including
the directions and distances to other public land survey corners used as evidence or used for
proportioning in determining the corner location?
Not Applicable.
(i) List all previous Monument Records found, previously filed for the subject corner, including
monument types set or found, surveyor, and date of survey.
September 25, 1984 -George Weir found a railroad spike at the intersection of centerlines of USH 51 and
Pheasant Hill Road. No previous tie sheet was found at the county surveyor's office as to the origin of the
railroad spike, CSM No. 3125 shows that the railroad spike was found and used as representing the corner.
Weir accepted the corner and established ties.
July 10, 1989 -George Weir found an aluminum monument at the surface of the present pavement of USH 51
which appeared to have been set in place of the railroad spike. Notes by Phil Hintze show a plug set in the
concrete pavement. Weir dug through the existing pavement and gravel and found the cast plug with cross at
the surface of the original concrete pavement 1' below the present surface. Weir accepted the plug as
representing the corner and set an aluminum monument at the surface over the found plug and tied to the 4
found reference irons from the previous tie sheet. Weir also set a railroad spike at the position of the found
aluminum monument which was removed during the excavation.
December 16, 1994 -George Weir found an aluminum cap in concrete monument in a metal cover access
hole which was set to represent this corner after the recent reconstruction of USH 51. After measuring to
adjacent corners, Weir found this monument to be set at an incorrect position. Weir had previously measured
to the adjacent corners for the section corner remonumentation along USH 51 prior to the reconstruction. Weir
set a railroad spike at the previous position of this corner as shown on the tie sheet dated July 10, 1989.
(j) I, Kevin C.
