1 f '"y 6 7 /
e . •
To: Dane County Land Regulation and Records
Re: Conditional Use Permit For Property Owned By:
Terrence L. & Terry L. Schumann
2080 Cty. Hwy. BB
1 Cottage Grove, WI 5352.E ,
(Tax Parcel # 09-071111293409)
I am writing this letter to obtain a conditional use permit for
the farm property currently zoned A-1 Agriculture District (Exclusive)
with marsh and wetland provisions. It is my intent to obtain a
conditional use permit in this A-1 Exclusive Agricultural District for
the purpose of a limited family business (subject to section 10. 192 of
the County Code) .and using only that part of the farm property that
is shown in my attached site plan.
The business would invoice the repair and design of furniture, the
sale of craft items made from wood products and the sale of wood products
(furniture grade lumber & flooring. ) r
The existing farm had been an old defunct dairy farm which my wife ,
and I purchased three years ago. The farm property sits in a flood plain
area with marsh and wetland provisions . The tilable fields have a clay
and gravel base which make it only suitable for certain crops. We presently'
have the tillable land in a set aside program.
The barn and all the buildings are) in great condition and presently
sit idle. I think that by using area within these buildings will make it
suitable for my intended use of these buildings for my, proposed Limited
Family Business. The time schedule for developement of the limited family
business would be approximately three months and would involve using only
the existing bulidings on the property as shown on the attached side plan.
The site- plan shows the proposed conditional use of this area of the
farm for the Limited Family Business .
ITEM # 1 Shown in the side plan and marked in red will be a proposed
furniture design and repair studio measuring approx. 30' x 37' and is
enclosed within part of an existing metal roof building that is attached
to the barn.
ITEM - 2 - Shown in the sitie plan and marked in red will be a proposed
showrrom and salesroom` area for furniture items , and craft items made from
wood products. This proposed area will measure approx. 28' x 31' and will
be enclosed in part of the existing barn loft.
ITEM # 3 - Shown in the site plan and marked in ret will be a proposed wood'
storage area for furniture grade lumber and wood flooring material that wild
be sold to contractors and millwork shops . The storage area will measure
approx, 40' x 16' and will consist of metal pallet racks for storing wood 1
products and will occupy part of an, existing enclosed metal roof building.
As shown within my site plan there is already an ample gravel parking
area and easy access to adjacent Cty. Hwy. BB (Cottage Grove Road)
T°11 '"°It' 4
r
Terrence L. Schumann
