The zoning of your property is mainly RH-4
(rural homes) and A-3(agricultural) and is less than 35 acres in size.
As per Roger Lane, Dane County Zoning Administrator, farms are considered to be 35 acres or larger in
the A-1EX, A-3 Districts. Also, substantial income must be derived from the farm operation.
(s.10.123(2)(b)). Substantial income for farm owners/operators is at least $865 in gross monthly income
averaged over a three (3) year period. Therefore annual gross farm income of$10,400 or$31,200 over a
three year period is required.
Therefore, both accessory structures will require a zoning permit and they will be considered to have
agricultural uses. Agricultural accessory buildings have no specific size limitations and no specific
setbacks to the parcel lines. The reason for the zoning permit is to review the location of structures
within respects to the road right-of-way, wetlands, floodplain, and shoreland districts.
Attached with this letter is a copy of the Dane County zoning permit(s).
Sincerely,
Daniel Everson
Zoning Inspector
CC: Town of Oregon
Brian Burkeland- Oregon Building Inspector
Roger Lane
210 Martin Luther King Jr.Blvd.•:•City-County Bldg,Room 116❖Madison,WI 53703-3342•:•Phone:608.266.4266+Fax:608.267.1540
