A7i! <br /> / C C/1").- / <br /> ED AND MARY SAUR <br /> 6507 LAKE ROAD <br /> WINDSOR, WISCONSIN 53598 <br /> SEPTEMBER 6, 1991 <br /> DEAR SHARY, <br /> WE ARE CORRESPONDING REGARDING A ZONING CHANGE BEING SOUGHT <br /> BY THE HAMMON'S OF 6603 LAKE ROAD WINDSOR TO BE DISCUSSED <br /> TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 10 BEFORE THE ZONING COMMITTEE. <br /> ON THE TOWNSHIP LEVEL THIS WAS DISCUSSED AT THE PLANNING <br /> COMMISION MEETING ON AUGUST 26 AND THE COMMITTEE, EXCEPT FOR <br /> ONE ABSTENSION BECAUSE HE LIVED IN THE AREA, VOTED <br /> UNANIMOUSLY AGAINST REZONING SAID PROPERTY TO DUPLEX <br /> HOUSING. <br /> IT WAS AGAIN DISCUSSED SEPTEMBER 5, 1991 AT THE WINDSOR TOWN <br /> BOARD MEETING AND THE TOWN BOARD MEMBERS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED <br /> AGAINST THE REZONING TO DUPLEX ZONING. THE MAIN REASON FOR <br /> THIS WAS BECAUSE IT CREATED AN ISLAND IN AN OTHERWISE <br /> SINGLE-FAMILY AREA. <br /> WE HAVE VERY STRONG FEELINGS AGAINST THE REZONING OF THE <br /> PROPERTY WHICH IS TWO LOTS TO DUPLEX ZONING. <br /> WE HAVE BEEN IN OUR HOUSE WHICH IS ADJACENT TO SAID PROPERTY <br /> FOR EIGHTEEN YEARS. NEVER DID WE CONSIDER THAT OUR AREA <br /> WOULD BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS BECAUSE <br /> THAT WAS IN OUR DEED. I REALIZE NOW THAT SAID PROPERTY WAS <br /> THERE BEFORE LAKE WINDSOR WAS PLOTTED. WE ADDED ON TO OUR <br /> HOUSE ABOUT EIGHT YEARS AGO BECAUSE WE LIKED OUR <br /> NEIGHBORHOOD AND HAD VERY STRONG SENTIMENTAL TIES TO OUR <br /> PROPERTY AND NEIGHBORS. WE FEEL THAT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT <br /> TO MAINTAIN THE LAKE WINDSOR AREA AS PREDOMINANTLY SINGLE- <br /> FAMILY DWELLINGS AND THAT MOST PEOPLE THAT OWN THEIR <br /> PROPERTY HAVE A BETTER SENSE OF COMMITTMENT TO THEIR <br /> NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY. HAVING BEEN RENTERS WE KNOW HOW <br /> OUR OWN FEELINGS CHANGED WHEN WE MOVED INTO OUR HOUSE. <br /> THERE ARE SEVERAL EMPTY LOTS IN LAKE WINDSOR AND WE FEEL <br /> REZONING THIS LOT WOULD BE A BAD PRECEDENT TO SET FOR THE <br /> CONTINUITY OF THE AREA. OUR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS = TOM <br /> THOMSEN'S, CHUCK ANDERSON'S AND BILL STATZ'S -JUST TO NAME A <br /> FEW FEEL THE SAME. A PETITION WAS PRESENTED WITH APPROX. 30 <br /> NAMES OF NEIGHBORS WITHIN APPROX. 1/2 MILE OF SAID PROPERTY. <br /> INCLUDED IN THAT LIST WERE ALL OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS THAT <br /> BORDERED THE HAMMON PROPERTY. <br /> IN ADDITION, THE HAMMOND'S FUTURE PLANS ARE TO BUILD A <br /> SECOND DUPLEX ON THEIR OTHER LOT. THIS WOULD SIGNIFICANTLY <br /> INCREASE THE ACCESS TO LAKE ROAD(CV) AT A VERY DANGEROUS <br /> AREA. THEIR DRIVEWAY IS JUST SOUTH OF A CREST ON LAKE ROAD <br />
