7
September 19, 1991
To: Shary Bisgard, Chairperson of the zoning and Natural Resources
Committee
Re: Zoning petition #5157
This letter is in regard to the zoning petition #5157 by Land Surveys
Ltd. , agent for Rich Eberle to change the zoning from A-1 Exclusive
Agriculture to Rh-2 Rural Homes district. The public hearing on this
petition was held September 10, 1991, unfortunately we were unable to
change our schedules to appear for the hearing.
We own land which borders the petitioned land site and are proposing
that re-zoning does not occur for many reasons. We purchased our land
from developer Rich Eberle as well and were skeptical as to the
eventual development which could occur in that particular area. We
were assured by Rich at that time that development would not occur in
that area and that his plan was for 2-3 homes only in the vicinity.
In a short period of time there have been several homes built and more
lots for sale than initially discussed. In view from our home we are
able to observe the petitioned land and its natural uses throughout
the year. The petitioned land borders a springfed stream and wetland
which serves as a wildlife habitat for many animals including deer,
flocks of pheasants, and fox. With development at such a rapid pace
in this vicinity this could serve to be detrimental to the Wisconsin
wildlife and wetlands.
Mr. Eberle's initial plan was to include a road along Coray Lane and
including the petitioned area to intersect with our driveway and enter
Timberlane. This road would need to cross the wetlands if developed
as well. Since this road would intersect with our driveway we are
fully aware of the far-from-ideal entrance onto Timberlane. It is
very difficult to see oncoming traffic due to a hill at the placement
of the potential road entrance. The Verona schoolbus makes frequent
stops there as there are many children on Timberlane at this time.
Increased traffic in that particular are would be a potential hazard.
For the above mentioned reasons, as well as the aesthetic values we
place in the Verona countryside, we strongly petition the rezoning of
this particular land. Please feel free to contact us with any
questions or concerns regarding this issue. Thank you.
Sincerely,
4-ut-itA)
Lisa La Follette Miller and Gene Miller
3165 TimberLane
Verona, WI 53593
845-5156
