September 24, 1991
TOWN OF COTTAGE GROVE
4058 Highway N
Cottage Grove, Wisconsin
ATTN: TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMITTEE
RE: ZONING CHANGE FROM A-2 TO A-2(8)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
With reference to the above zoning change to the property occupied
by Gregory and Mary Chaffin, 4593 Kennedy Road, Cottage Grove,
Zoning Petition #5155 has been filed with Dane County. This request
asks that this property be rezoned from the existing A-2 zoning to
an A-2(8) zoning. Because the property is 13.2 acres it fits into the
A-2(8) catagory which stipulates a parcel between 8 and 16 acres.
This property was originally split by Van Hoof in 1982 so that a
subsequent sale could be made to two seperate parties. This 13.2
acre property was sold to David Genske whom we bought it from in
May of this year. Van Hoof filed zoning change #2930, to divide Lot
1 of Certified Map No. 3994, and the Cottage Grove Planning
Committee approved this split on November 15, 1982.
Also on November 15, 1982 a Conditional Use Permit #284 was
approved .for David Genske, the new owner, allowing him to build a
home and a barn on this parcel of 13.2 acres as an A-2 zoning.
Van Hoof did not finalize his responsibilities once these requests
were finalized by Dane County in that he never made arrangements
for a new Certified Map Survey and subsequent filing making this
whole process completely legal. Since I now own the property it is
my responsibility to assure this final process is accomplished and
filed per Dane County mandates.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Gregory T. Ch in, Owner
