Since the time of our application, we have been working with <br /> Russell Bartlett, who has been helping us through the process. Through the course of Russell's <br /> research on the permit application, we have found a discrepancy with the setback of the <br /> existing base and the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> 1. Background <br /> a. The permit for the original sign (design attached)was signed on October 13, <br /> 2000. <br /> b. The site plan portion of the approved permit(copy attached)shows the setback <br /> from Nob Hill Road at 15'-0". (Note: I have included a copy of our original permit <br /> application so that you can see Ryan Signs notes as well as the Zoning Supervisors <br /> notes.) <br /> c. Also attached, please find a Google Map which shows the placement of the sign <br /> is outside the vision triangle. <br /> 2. Current Application <br /> a. WEA Trust has updated their branding and as part of that update, are planning to <br /> install a new sign on the existing base structure(design attached). <br /> b. The original sign was calculated at 29.69 sf2 and the new sign is calculated at <br /> 27.9 sf2. <br /> c. Our intent is that the setback from Nob Hill Road will not change. <br /> 3. Request for Approval <br /> a. The proposed sign is different only in design. The setback will remain the same as <br /> that of the original permit. The square footage is nearly identical and within the <br /> standards of the Dane County Sign Ordinance. <br /> b. We would ask for your approval of our sign permit application on the basis that it <br /> meets the intent of the original approval. The longevity of the original placement <br /> is an Indicator that it does not pose a safety threat to those entering or leaving <br /> WEA Trust. <br /> I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. <br /> Thank you for your consideration. <br />
