February 10, 1992 - David Riesop found no references for this corner. In 1902 W.L. Marcy measured easterly to the centerline of CTH N and southerly to the SW corner of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 16 (Vol. 1, P. 303-304). In 1958 Alex Ely established the East line of Section 17, map no. 2939-L. In 1961 Andrew Dahlen established the North line of Section 17 with the plat of Riverwood Estates. Riesop reset the corner at the intersection of the Ely survey from the South and the North line of Riverwood Estates from the West. This location agrees with the old fenceline along the North line of the NW 1/4 - NW 1/4 of Section 16 and is within 1.2'to the 1/4-1/4 to the South as measured by Marcy and is within 2.6' to the centerline (P.I.)of"N", also measured by Marcy. This position is in conflict with the North line of Section 16 as shown on CSM 3808 but the corner was apparently not established during that survey in 1979. The corner location now falls in the Yahara River and references were made. (j) I, Kevin C.
