DANE COUNTY PUBLIC LAND SURVEY MONUMENT RECORD
This record shall show the location of the corner and shall include all of the following nine elements (a
through j).
(a) CORNER LOCATION MARK CORNER LOCATION
SECTION NUMBER: 21
TOWNSHIP 05 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST .
21
Ill
DANE COUNTY COORDINATES
NORTHING: 412,845.02
EASTING: 870,305.94
HORIZONTAL DATUM &ADJUSTMENT: NAD 83(NSRS 2011) DANE COUNTY
ORTHOMETRIC HEIGHT: 835.60 VERTICAL DATUM: (NAVD 88)
(b) Describe any record evidence, monument evidence, occupational evidence, testimonial evidence or
any other material evidence you considered, and whether the monument was found or placed.
A PK Nail was found at the approximate centerline of Leslie Road. The previous tie sheet shows little
information and the fenceline to the south is gone. The PK Nail is online with a treeline to the north. A survey
map by Winthrop Keniston from 1961 shows a PK nail at the center of the section in line with a fenceline to the
North. The distance between measured between the center and the East 1/4 corner of Section 21 is 1.65'
longer than that shown on the survey map. The recent surveys in the area show the East-West 1/4 line as a
straight line between the East and West 1/4 corners which is approximately 4.7' south of the PK Nail.
However plat of survey 95-0348 shows the section line converging with centerline within 300 feet of the center
of the section. The right-of-way shown on many of the surveys references 33'from the centerline of the road.
The location of the PK Nail was accepted based on the original tie sheet and early survey with the distances
matching close to those on the survey. Four reference ties were established and tied to the corner.
(c) CORNER LOCATION SKETCH: In the sketch, provide reference ties to at least 4 witness monuments of
lasting durable material.
(d) The sketch shall include physical features surrounding the monument location sufficient to easliy find the
monument when in the general area, such as but not limited to utility poles, signs, trees, edge of forests or
cropland, field lanes, water bodies, pavement, buildings, etc. Sketch shall also indicate north and scale, and
include descriptions of symbols, in sketch or by legend.
N / FIELD I POWER
ENTRANCE 7
OVERN S.8 PDLE
LINES Q-- °49'37"E.
N.-0014.Lik" OH I \ OH • OH
w 1r 'E LLII \ cP _53.17' {
° ?'
,1 M1 \i.„ CULVERT ART O
s z1 \6:5-1\. . / - /
PAVEMENT EDGE r-------\ ,,/ /LP 0 10' 20'
... I \`., 6p 3/
LESLIE I N "/?
ROAD I ,44/-0c Ar
/
Ns
ai moo° C
PAVEMENT EDGE I // "S /
LEGEND I // "\ /
.
