AMDT.33,08-09 <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br /> CLARIFYING DEFINITION OF BUILDING HEIGHT <br /> The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: <br /> ARTICLE 1. Unless otherwise expressly stated herein, all references to section and chapter numbers are to those of the Dane <br /> County Code of Ordinances. <br /> ARTICLE 2. Section 10.01(8) is amended to read as follows: <br /> 10.01 DEFINITIONS. For the purposes of this chapter certain terms used herein are defined as set forth in this section. Words <br /> and phrases not defined in this section or elsewhere in the ordinance shall be construed by resort to the following, in order of <br /> preference: Wisconsin Statutes; Wisconsin zoning case law; other states'zoning case law; the dictionary; and common usage. <br /> (8) Building height. The vertical distance, measured from the mean elevation of the finished grade along the front of the <br /> building to the highest point on the roof for flat roofs; to the mean height level between the eaves and the ridge the highest ridge <br /> and its associated eave for gable and hip roofs; to the deck line for mansard roofs. The front of the building shall be the side <br /> directly facing the public or private thoroughfare which affords primary means of access to the property, excluding the driveway. <br /> [EXPLANATION: This amendment revises the definition of "Building Height"and clarifies how it is determined which side of a <br /> building is considered to be the front of the building.] <br /> Zoning & Land Regulation Committee recommended adoption of Ord. AMDT.37,08-09 <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br /> FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP UPDATE CORRECTION <br /> The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: <br /> ARTICLE 1. Unless otherwise expressly stated herein, all references to section and chapter numbers are to those of the Dane <br /> County Code of Ordinances. <br /> ARTICLE 2. Subsection 17.05(2)1. is amended to read as follows: <br /> 17.05 GENERAL PROVISIONS. (2) Official map and revisions. The boundaries of all floodplain districts are designated as <br /> floodplains or A-Zones on the map listed below and the revisions in the Dane County Floodplain Appendix. Any change to the <br /> base flood elevations (BFE) in the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) or on the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) must be reviewed and <br /> approved by the DNR and FEMA before it is effective. No changes to regional flood elevations (RFE's) on non-FEMA maps shall <br /> be effective until approved by the DNR. This map and revisions are on file in the office of the Dane County Zoning Administrator. <br /> If more than one map or revision is referenced,the most restrictive information shall apply. <br /> OFFICIAL MAP: <br /> 1. Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) dated January 2, 2009 for unincorporated Dane County, with corresponding profiles that are <br /> based on the Dane County Flood Insurance Study (FIS), dated January 2, 2009, volumes 55025CV001 B -002B.
