March 6, 1990
Dane County Land Regulation & Records
Room 116, City-County Building
Madison, Wisconsin 53709
Subject: Application for Conditional Use Permit in Dane County
Gentlemen:
I request Permit for land located as follows:
NWk of the SWk of Section 7, Township 9 North, Range 12 East, Town
of York, Dane County, Wisconsin. Approximately 30 acres. Tax parcel
No. 35-091207385009.
and
That portion of the SWk of the SWk of Section 7, Township 9 North,
Range 12 East, Town of York, Dane County, Wisconsin, located north
of Valley Hill Road. Approximately 8 acres. Tax parcel
No. 35-091207390002
Proposed use: Borrow for USH 151 construction from Sun Prairie to Columbus.
Time Schedule: Begin June, 1990.
Suitability of Property: The property is farm land with a hill which
if removed will improve the land by reducing erosion. It is also strategically
located to the section of USH 151 requiring the greatest fill.
There are no buildings now on the property, and none are contemplated.
There is unlimited access to Valley Hill Road, which borders the east
and south edges of the property.
The north end of the subject real estate slopes steeply to a maximum
elevation at the north property line which is about 30 feet higher than
the central and south part of the parcel. It is my understanding that
the adjacent property to the north, owned by Weber, will also request
a conditional use permit for the same purpose. This will permit a general
leveling of the area and thereby reduce erosion.
In leveling the hill, the available topsoil or other soil of a nature
conducive to plant growth, overlaying such area, shall be stripped off
and placed in stockpiles in sufficient quantities to cover all surfaces
of excavated area to a depth of four to six inches. When the depth of
the topsoil overlaying such area is less than four inches in depth, the
topsoil shall be replaced to the original depth. No slopes greater
than 3 to 1 will be created unless terraced.
After the area has been restored it will be returned to general agricultural
use.
