Our office recieved a wetland delineation report
dated December 24, 2008 conducted by Jim Knowles. The report delineates a wetland boundrary similar to that
found on the 2006 DNR Wetland Inventory, however moves the entire boundary closer to the bulk of the wetlands.
Roger Lane, Zoning Administrator, has accepted that the report defines the exact location of the boundary, and has
no discrepancy between the DNR inventory--so the line delineated in this report has been approved for use to issue
zoning permits on this property.
Since you had been contacted previously about this project I would like to make this report available to you if you
have any interest in following the development. Please let me know if you would like a copy.
Hans
Hans Hilbert
Dane County
Zoning Inspector
608.266.4993
hilbert.hans@co.danemi.us
www.countyofdane.com
Original Message
From: Jim Knowles [mailto:james.knowles @jdknowles.com]
Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 12:30 PM
To: Schutte, Kristine; Steinhauer, Charles; Everson, Daniel
Cc: 'Peterson, Cami L DNR'; Eric.Heggelund @Wisconsin.gov
Subject: FW: Wetland Site Review
Good Morning,
I just wanted to give you an update on our progress for the wetland boundary verification effort at
the site within the Holland Fields subdivision in the Town of DeForest. Below is an email I sent to
the WDNR this morning after talking with Eric Heggelund. We still have a very good opportunity to
verify that the wetland line has or has not shifted for this site because there is little or no ground
frost to speak of and site vegetation is quite identifiable. Once I hear from Eric and Cami that we
are a go for next Tuesday I would expect we would be there some time around 10:00 a.m. to take
advantage of the maximum lighting of the day; this gives us the best view of soils which is
necessary to obtain the correct Munsell color determination.
I have attached the current shoreland-wetland map for the site with the approximate 1998 wetland
line (yellow) added for comparison.
It would be great if we could reach concurrence on Tuesday in the field followed by County
issuance of the Conditional Use Permit, assuming all is well with the site where the project and
County restrictions are concerned, by the end of the day or at the latest early next week.
1/28/2009
