"K"/ROUTE 1 <br /> WAUNAKEE, WISCONSIN 53597/PHONE 608-849-4182 <br /> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br /> April 2, 1990 <br /> Yahara Materials, Inc. is requesting a rezoning of the Norslien property for the <br /> purpose of removing limerock for aggregate and agricultural lime production. <br /> The area consists of a wooded ridge and no farmland would be removed from production. <br /> Topsoil and overburden would be stripped from the site and piled separately. These <br /> materials would be used for the final restoration of the site. The area would be <br /> free draining and left in a workmanlike condition. Reclamation and restoration will <br /> conform to applicable rules and regulations of the Dane County Code of Ordinances, <br /> May, 1989. <br /> Access to the site from STH would be by a new drive as indicated on the site map <br /> and utilizing an existing roadway to get to the new quarry. New roadway would be <br /> abandoned and restored at time of quarry reclamation. The site is a viable source <br /> of limestone aggregate and agricultural lime for the surrounding area. Its access <br /> onto STH 78 will negate the use of town roads for hauling material from the site. <br /> The quarry is located around the side of the hill and at such an elevation that <br /> would make it visually unobtrusive to viewers from the highway. Natural berms of <br /> vegetation will be retained wherever possible to help screen the area. <br /> This site is located a considerable distance from the surrounding neighbors. <br /> The closest being over two thousand feet and with a ridge between them and the <br /> proposed site. <br /> a' ( 0 1990 <br />
