1 1 <br /> The primary concerns would be to prevent a scar on the scenery and <br /> protecting the waterway to the south from silt-laden run-off . <br /> Petition 4751 - CUP 837. The comments and concerns are basically the <br /> same as for CUP 836, with additional emphasis on protection of the <br /> waterway which feeds Vermont Creek and protection of the views from the <br /> highway. <br /> CUP 838. This proposed quarry site is gently sloping farmland in an <br /> agricultural preservation area of the Town of Verona. The soils are <br /> rated as "prime" for agricultural production by USDA standards. If the <br /> need for the borrow for road construction is justified, the extraction <br /> should be limited to as small an area as possible and returned to <br /> agricultural production when the highway project is completed. <br /> CUP 839. This is an extension of an existing quarry site in the Town of <br /> Bristol . It should be: 1 ) limited to use on the Highway 151 project, <br /> and 2) a reclamation plan be implemented to restore the site at the <br /> termination of the project . <br /> Petition 4752. This existing residential lot is part of Burke Limited <br /> Service Area, which was added in 1986. The purpose of the limited <br /> service area is to provide sewer service to existing development and not <br /> to encourage extensive urban development . <br /> The general area is low density residential with highway-related <br /> commercial along the north and south edges of the mapped area. If <br /> parking semis can be Justified in the opinion of the committee, it should <br /> be specifically limited to no more than two vehicles. <br /> Petition 4756 - CUP 841 . This proposed art and craft sale site is in an <br /> existing garage in an agricultural preservation area of the Town of Dane. <br /> The relevant policy is: "Only such commercial and Industrial as is <br /> needed to support existing agricultural activities, where it will not <br /> result in environmental degradation or conflict with farming operations <br /> will be allowed. " <br /> Art and craft sales generally are not considered agriculturally related. <br /> In addition, Coyle Road has six existing houses, thus making It a <br /> predominantly residential street . The proposed use is at the far west <br /> end of Coyle Road; thus all traffic generated by this use must pass all <br /> the homes coming in and going out to Highway 113. <br /> CUP 842. This proposed silage pit Is in an agricultural preservation <br /> area in the Town of Sun Prairie. While handling silage is a normal <br /> farming activity, this material is delivered from the canning company in <br /> trucks, and later redistributed to area farmers by trucks. <br /> The proposed pit and holding pond are adjacent to the applicant 's farm <br /> buildings, but there is a non-farm residence across the highway on the <br /> small lot to the northeast . Other houses are approximately 1/4 mile <br /> away. <br /> With conditions controlling leachate retention and disposal , plus <br /> limiting trucking hours, this use may be made compatible. <br /> . 2 <br />
