August 13, 1990 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Re: Zoning Petition #4831 We are very concerned and have objections with the placement of the proposed road leading to the property on which Mr. Jones wishes to build a home. 1. Some traffic comes through there at an awful rate of speed. Over the years we have had several people go through our fences, turn their cars upside down at 2 a.m. , and have had young calves killed in broad daylight. Traffic coming from the south is hidden by a hill and traffic from the north is hidden as it comes through a dip. With cars traveling in excess of the speed limit (and in bad 4eather even at normal speed) a person coming out of that proposed drive could be an accident at anytime. There is already a logging road located near Bergum's buildings that goes back to this property and would come out onto Bergum road where there is a clear view from both directions. This could make a good alternative drive. 2. We have crop land that lies just south of this proposed drive and we are very concerned that a road here will result in runoff and eventual errosion of our land adjoining. Since we have already lost the use of some of our land to the south of our buildings due to runoff from the village we are very concerned that we don't lose any more. We request that before the members of the zoning department take any final action on this petition that an on-site inspection be made regarding errosion and traffic problems. It is our hope that your representatives would contact us prior to their inspection so that we may go with them and explain our objections. We appreciate your attention in this matter.
