DANE COUNTY PUBLIC LAND SURVEY MONUMENT RECORD
This record shall show the location of the corner and shall include all of the following nine elements (a
through j).
(a) CORNER LOCATION MARK CORNER LOCATION
SECTION NUMBER: 24
TOWNSHIP 05 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST
24
DANE COUNTY COORDINATES
NORTHING: 410,471.21
EASTING: 886,148.75 IL
HORIZONTAL DATUM&ADJUSTMENT: NAD 83(NSRS 2011) DANE COUNTY
ORTHOMETRIC HEIGHT: VERTICAL DATUM: (NAVD 88)
(b) Describe any record evidence, monument evidence, occupational evidence, testimonial evidence or
any other material evidence you considered, and whether the monument was found or placed.
The location of the South corner of Section 24 falls within a drainage ditch. The location is based on an
equidistant point and online between the Southwest and Southeast corners of Section 24. The distance is
0.03' longer than the split distance as shown on the George Weir Survey Map No. 10293-L. The location also
matches the distance to the North 1/4 corner of Section 24 as shown on the Weir Survey Map by 0.05'. A Plat
of Survey by Steven Lathrop in 2004 as map No. 2004-001266 shows the breakdown of 40 acres matching
very close to the previous Weir Survey Map. A previous Plat of Survey by Glen Northrop in 1997 as Map No.
98-00041 however matches the overall distance from the Southwest to the Southeast corner of Section 24 as
shown previously by Weir but did not split the north line for the North 1/4 corner of Section 25. It is unknown
why an equidistant split was not held. The three reference monuments were found and one additional set as
shown on the tie sheet.
(c) CORNER LOCATION SKETCH: In the sketch, provide reference ties to at least 4 witness monuments of
lasting durable material.
(d)The sketch shall include physical features surrounding the monument location sufficient to easliy find the
monument when in the general area, such as but not limited to utility poles, signs, trees, edge of forests or
cropland, field lanes, water bodies, pavement, buildings, etc. Sketch shall also indicate north and scale, and
include descriptions of symbols, in sketch or by legend.
N
W irisfj
®' APPROX.WATER EDGE
S A DRAINAGE
DITCH
DRAINAGE
1a 20' DITCH
N7
74°4.007111 APPROX.WATER EDGE
I
TTZT>°
/6
I /
DRAINAGE I /
DRCH I /.
