AN APPLICATION FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br /> in <br /> DANE COUNTY.WISCONSIN <br /> more particularly <br /> LAND OWNED BY THE <br /> UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN FOUNDATION <br /> in the <br /> TOWN OF VERONA <br /> to be used as <br /> A GOLF COURSE AND RELATED FACILITIES <br /> 1. Legal Description of area to be covered by the conditional use permit(attached) <br /> 2 Filing Fee of$110.00 -also to pay for rezoning petition- (attached). <br /> 3 Required Information - <br /> a) Proposed I?se of the Property <br /> The property will be used to accommodate the conduct of research involving <br /> turf grasses. The site will be primarily comprised of open space and test plots, and <br /> will contain some laboratory and office space. <br /> b) Time Schedule for Development <br /> Plot development is scheduled to commence in September, 1990. <br /> c)Reasons Why the Property is Suitable for the Proposed Use. <br /> It is important for the proposed turfgrass research center to be located in close <br /> proximity to the UW Golf Course. Presumably research will also be conducted on the <br /> course. <br /> While benefitting from close proximity to the UW Golf Course, the proposed site <br /> does not functionally or visually intrude upon the course. <br /> Much of the land on the proposed research site has poor bearing and percolation <br /> qualities. While not well suited for more intensive development, such land is <br /> adequate for test plots and open space <br /> The current owner of the proposed research site. the University of Wisconsin <br /> Foundation, is willing to donate this parcel for turfgrass research purposes. <br /> d) A Site Plan of the Property <br /> Drawn to scale, showing. <br /> Location of all buildings. existing and proposed. <br /> Access points to the adjacent highway <br /> Parking areas. <br />
