This statement is predicated on the September 8, 1989 applications to lift the wetland designation and -fill an area deemed to be within the floodplane on the Fuchs, Inc . property. This property is located on STH 78 in the town of Mazomanie, Dane County, Wisconsin. Attached is an elevation survey prepared by River Valley Land Surveying , Sauk City, Wisconsin. His survey ,red in August 1989 using the 100 year- flood elevation was prep of 744. 00 feet , as furnished by the Dane County Zoning Dep� . to River Valley Land Surveying. As can be seen from the survey , much of the proposed fill area is at or above the 744 feet designation. This is mainly due to the actual results of a "hands on" survey versus satellite mapping ! We wish to bring attention to the small area designated "springs and standing water " . This area does not appear to be actually spring fed. It has standing water only after a period of heavy rains as have recently occured. This leads us to believe the "standing water" is a result of run off . Fuchs, Inc . is a family owned and operated business. We started in the 1950 's with four trucks, two employees and a leased location in the Village of Sauk City. At present time we have well over 100 employees, over 350 units and an annual payroll in excess of two million dollars. The property in question was purchased in 1969 with the thought that it would provide room for all future expansion. The time has come when that expansion is critical to our operation. Our goal is to provide sufficient parking areas for our units' Any future buildings could easily be accommodated on the high ground located in the south-east corner of the property. This area is now used for parking and has become restrictive, area wise, for that purpose. - / • mow
